gold at the dump

hit the bottle dump again,,, while i was taking a break i noticed a little bottle i missed,, getting back down to where i was i took another look around and scoped out this ring,,, no markings i can see,,, but only one thing comes out of the ground looking like gold...if i had more experience bottling i may have seen it when i dug it,, but it sat there on top for over a week,,,,,,,

Nice finds. That ring is another reason you might want to use a screen at the dump. Simple to make and operate, a screen would have found that ring for you a week ago. What else might you have missed? Trust me - screening is the way to go.

Cool digs Rick. Grats on the gold. When I was dumpin' back in the 80's at a great site, I used to dig a hole first, then enlarge it in one direction by gradually breaking loose the item and letting them roll down the hill to the bottom of the hole. Every once in while shoveling them out the back and I used to find all kinds of coins, lots of marbles, and some jewelry. Never any gold though. But you have to be quick and snag them right up as they get re-buried quickly otherwise. Good luck bud, and BE CAREFUL!
