Like the title says, I'll be selling my copper cents on ebay possibly next week, how should I do this? Should I hook my paypal up with my bank account? Or ask them for a check in the mail? I would turn the check in to make sure it goes through first before sending. I know people can try and take back the money they've sent to my paypal, and this is the reason I've been sketchy about this.. I plan to sell the copper pennies to get up to around $200.00 so I could go through some halves, then if those are a bust I'll just repeat, looking for more copper cents and reselling. :D'

Advice would be VERY helpful.

60lbs of copper.. might sell in 10lbs 20lbs or? And should I set a starting price ect.

You won't be able to sell unless you have a PayPal account and you have to back it up with a checking account, that's the only way to do it.
I'd sell them at a buy it now price but since you're new to selling they will hold the money until its delivered, id use priority mail flat rate to get it out quickly
Check the completed listings to see how much they are selling for, and always factor in the fees

I wouldn't send my cents out before I had the money, also I'm not really new to trading it's more of the aspect of the safest way to do it. I'll be shipping "If it fits it ships" ;p flat rate at my local post office. I do have an account with a nice amount of feedback like 100 positive.

I'm not sure if I want to get involved with craigslist.. since many people on craigslist don't look for copper pennies ;p plus I don't feel extremely safe meeting someone.

My dad would prefer I do this though ;p

Made a post on craigslist. 60lbs for $140.00 sound good? ;p melt value of $210.00 just under by a few cents. Also said to email me offers but nothing horrible since I am straight forward.

I usually meet in the police parking lot for all Craigslist sales

those "if it fits, it ships" envelopes are up to a certain weight. if you plan on sending heavy things through the mail, best bet mail-wise is to send it via UPS. usually the heavier it is the cheaper it is and UPS automatically insures all packages at $100. you can buy more insurance if you want.

Thought I would throw my two cents out there.

Sincerely, Garoulady

Garoulady makes a good point. Take a look at the medium size Flat Rate box.

I've shipped $50 and $100 lots of copper pennies using the medium size. A $100 lot JUST makes it under the 70 lb. limit.

Good luck on your sale.

What's your auction number or ebay username? I'd like to watch how the auction goes

Sold my copper on craigslist in a face to face at my home. Nice guy. We will do business again. I sold $344.16 for $550. Good luck!

Wow, that's a great price seeing that you had to pay zero fees!

Why not sell in 5 lb lots at $15 each...might get more hits, easier to ship, greater profit...

Buy 1 or all...
