Just got this in a trade. Traded a snowblower for this knife, a travel chess set, and about $5 of silver.
It is a Cattaraugus 2250. Apparently used as a fighting knife in WW2 and at some point someone decided it needed a goat foot for the handle!
Was a great trade for me! The chess set goes to my chess group and I get to keep a cool knife! All while getting rid of something I didn't want!

I will have to say that that is the most unusual knife handle I have ever seen. Cool find.

My son and I blacksmith as a hobby. I have made knifes from horseshoes, RR spikes, coil springs, etc.....We have used bone, antlers, and about anything else we can find/use for handles, however that is the coolest knife handle I have ever seen.......

I purchased an old knife with some kind of small European deer foot for a handle long time ago. The knife was made in the late 19th century in Germany. I paid 50 bucks for it and sold it for around $150. I think?. It's one of the many things I wish I'd kept, but that's how it goes. I look at my stuff and say what could I sell or trade today? ... I don't sell regularly that much, but I sure have a habit of buying and trading for things I like and sometimes I just need to unload some things to go buy more. I've not seen a whole lot of knives I'd buy, but this one you have would sure get my interest.
