One piece of a vast collection of rocks/minerals/artifacts found in Keenewah County, Michigan by my Great Aunt and my Great Grandpa sometime between 1946-1989. They kept no records, or ledgers of any kind.
I think 20181217_125904.jpg20181217_125853.jpg the host rock here is Gneiss, I'm just not sure about the deep red crystal clusters🤔🤔🤔....help!

Google garnets in gneiss and you'll find other image examples. These tiny garnets are in schist, rhyolite along with other metamorphic and igneous rocks. If you ever do a little gold panning you'll also find these little garnets in the washed down black sands.
