I’ve been struggling on rock, so am practicing on bottle glass. I finally got some longer flakes that reached near center. My best attempts so far. I do have issues with breakage. The glass is so thin; I have trouble doing the second side. Here’s a piece from this morning. Not a point, just flaking practice.

You’re making progress. Definitely. Your goal now is making the flakes run far enough from both sides so that the flat original surface disappears. Isolate those platforms and grind them. Set up a row of platforms leaving a space between them. Take the flakes off in a series right down the edge.
