I have seen one used as a garlic press.do not know if that is what it was made for or not.
 

I'll admit, I've never seen one. It's definitely not a hamburger press though. Try making one with it and you'll see why. Whatever it was made to crush or mix up, it has to be soft or the glass would chip off into whatever it is your crushing. Only thing I can think of is fruit. It's like a muddler on steroids with a cup to go with it. I don't know, some weird mortar and pestle??

Meat tenderizer? Can't be a mortar and pestle, those diamond shapes would prohibit any grinding.
 

I think its a muddler for cocktails to crush up stuff like mint for a mint julep.

As would they prohibit any tenderizing, now that I look at them a little closer. They are indented aren't they. Didn't notice that at first. I wish I knew :dontknow::icon_scratch: Interesting object.
