Hey folks... I just posted the below text in the Civil War thread. I don't claim this to be anything but man...... how does a piece of glass at an Indian fishing village site and a later Civil War site end up looking like this? Bending glass? Hmmmm. Any thoughts?
Hello folks. While arrowhead hunting at my favorite site, I discovered this glass piece. You should know that the area where this was found, in addition to thousands of years of Indian Activity, saw Civil War action as well. It was a field artillery site. Now... this glass appears to be bottle glass that has been heated and shaped. It looks a lot like a Large Mouth Bass to me and it was found on the river's edge during low tide. Do any of you know if the CW soldiers were known for this type of "time killing" artwork? Maybe it was done by the later (post 16oos) Indians... or... maybe it's just nothing. In any case... thanks for looking.
