About 15 years ago I found this glass bar in a creek bed in Tamarack, MI. I've been hauling it around ever since, wondering what on earth it is. It was found not too far from where the railroad track crossed over the creek, and in an area with lots of old stamp mills and other ore processing buildings from the copper mining days.
It's about 13 1/4 inches long, 1 3/8 inches across, and 5/8 inch thick. The ends are rounded and all the corners beveled. The glass has got lots of light scratches, but doesn't have any bubbles and is very clear.
Any ideas what this is or where it might have come from? No one who's ever seen is has had any idea.
