Found this next to an old barn. Ping pong ball size. Solid glass. Wondering what it might be

It seems large for a lamp finial, it would depend on the size of the threads inside. Fancy standing ashtrays also had finials. The shift knob I put on my 47 Harley was a seafoam color glass knob, it was off an ashtray and the threads were 3/8ths x 24 , it screwed right on. Looked good too! Unless, someone put a custom Harley shift knob onto an ashtray.

How funny the very lamp on an end table I'm sitting next to right now has a ball finial kind of like this one and looks also to be the same size. Mine is not glass, but acrylic. How odd that I've never taken notice of the lamp finials I own, until now. Better add those in my last will and testament.

Never noticed them because you been out taking pictures of every foot of Colorado and everything that lives there...

I have one that large, came from a floor standing ashtray--( I think yours is to big for a lamp)--
