Detector(s) used
DFX, COMPASS SCANNER,
got permission to hunt a large field that starts about 80 yards from my front porch.
went over there this afternoon for a test run in the first half hour I picked up the
minnie ball and two other lead pieces and a wheatie. I could'nt figure what the wheatie was
so I walked home for a little break and washed up the penny, I was hoping it was a indian head.
anyway went back where I left off and a couple swings later I find the small bullet and
then the chewed ball. So not to bad for a hour and I havent even begun. My first idea was to
detect up to the fence all the way around a very old home which is private but I aint even made
it over to the home yet. so I am gonna take my time and detect it all. The block I live on and
two or three blocks around mine was all used by the U.S. durring the civil war. I have found some nice
stuff all within walking distance of my home. U.S. belt buckle, 3 cent silver, lots of bullets, end from a sword,
buttons and such.. long winded I am.
Please if anyone can give an ID of bullet, I have found a Identicle one but forgot what it was called... wes.. JYD.

Nice finds! The bullet is a fired .36 caliber Remington or as we call them teardrop bullet. It is listed in the bullet book if you have one as MM#99. I would be hitting that area as much as I could. Should be some nice relics waiting for you. Good luck on your return trip. James
