Hey Everyone,

It has been a while since I have been able to go out with my X-Terra 305, but I went you this morning for an hour or so and fond this pin at a local park.

Looked it up on the internet and it is possibly a Girl Scout pin from 1911. Was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of these pins and has any idea of what I have found.

Ifyou can verify the 19ll time period that would be great. That particular pinback is of interest to me as I have found at least 3 of them and, have not been able to determine that it was a girl scout pin. It may very well be one but, I have thought of the alternative of it being a military pin representing a general staff abbreviation.
Any help would be could clear this up for both of us .

Thank you,

Bond

I doubt it's from 1911--if I were to guess it looks more modern to me. Is there a patent date of 1911 on it or something? Please post a pic of the back too.

The best part about metal detecting, you just never know what you may dig up.

All this feedback is great, thanks!

@surf-

Mine has 7 arrows and 4 stars on the shield, the back pin is broke off, but there is letter "T" on the back, a capital "T".

Looked at my pin again and it appears to have the following traits, still trying to match it up with the website from Surf-

7 Arrows
4 Stars on the shield
5 bars on the shield
8 outer feathers on the eagle
Letter T on the back

I looked through the whole website, but did not find one that match the one that I found, so I sent an e-mail to the web page owner with a picture and asked for some information. Hopefully I will hear something back soon, and will let you all know if I hear anything about what they say.

Here is a better picture-

Looks like mine has

4 Stars in the shield
5 Bars in the shield
8 Arrows in the right foot
Bent left foot
8 Outer Feathers

I also noticed that my feathers do not touch the inside edge of the pin like all of the ones on the website I was looking at. On all the other pins, it appears that the arrows are touching the very edge of the pin, on mine there is a significant gap. For whatever that is worth :)

That is the kind of fine that makes this hobby so interesting.

Thanks for posting it.
