:icon_thumleft:What a beautiful find. What a lovely old ring. I looked closely and could not see any type of monogram on the front side of it. Are there any markings on the inside of the ring?
I have never found any ring that I think would be as old as that one.
Way to go!!!!
 

In my opinion its unlikely to be Colonial period.

As a rule of thumb, most Georgian rings were fairly simple & plain affairs. Only the high status cluster gem types were elabrate. Also they are typicially 1 piece construction.

This ring is more in keeping with the decorative Victorian Period, maybe later.

I agree. It looks like it is made in two pieces. In the second pic you can see the two pieces are trying to separate.
