Had an opportunity for a short hunt today and found this gold plated nail or earring. I'm leaning towards a nail, in one of the pics you can see a Little tag. Not to sure that would feel too good in the ear. It may be a furniture tack of some kind. :dontknow:

I'm thinking it is one half of a decorative tie tack or type of decorative pin. The tag that you reference that sticks out on the edge would allow it to be pressed into the tie or cloth and keep the entire piece stationary and not allow it to spin. Maybe the other half is still out there waiting to be found. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Wow, thanks for the identification.

Tie tack... ERRR... actually it could be from any insignia... pin... or any other WORN on clothes item.

The small "spike" next to the large one keeps the item from moving with motion. IE : Spinning over.
