Great idea ...I think he started a thread himself where everyone was posting gifts he had given so he could kind of have an online inventory of the states and people that now have North Dakota artifacts from his field... I'll get some of mine up here in just a bit.

Steve and I did several trades, 3 in all I believe. He sent me some awesome pieces as I did him. I even sent him a nice Elbow Pipe.

Here's the trays I put together of what Steve sent me. By far the most I have from any state in my states collection.

Thanks for posting everyone keep them coming ;)

I would like to show everyone 3 very nice hand held Round Dance Drums and the flipping stix that Steve sent me. He sent 3 stix, but I gave one to a friend who owns one of the sites I hunt. We didn't see much point in exchanging rocks because we pretty much already have a lot of the same stuff. These drums have a very good sound, Steve made sure of that, and they are very nice looking pieces.

Not only is he a generous individual, he is very thoughtful. Having know I had lived in Hawaii in the past, one of the sticks he sent was made from a flame grained Koa wood that only grows there. I don't use that one, it's to nice.

I really thought we would see more things posted. I know a lot more folks received things from him.

I agree !!! Come on keep them comin !!!!

I'm glad you found it I tried to search for it with no luck

These were the unexpectedly copious amount of artifacts Steve sent to me for doing nothing other than commenting how much I like Mandan Scrapers on a famous Larson thread, plus he sent me some Indian corn and beans as well!

I'd also like to give a shout out to the late Witko, another super generous person, that was also one of Steve's good friends and whom also sent me some fine Mandan artifacts.

The friendships and artifacts are treasured, thanks again, Steve!

I will try to make a post. It will be impossible to frame everything. But then I do not like frames as I like to handle them. The gem points I may frame.

Here are a few that I have received;

Folder 1 008.JPG Folder 1 007.JPG

Some different pottery designs.

Folder 1 009.JPG

Awls, sewing needles, and bone beads.

Folder 1 011.JPG

Shaft Abraders

Folder 1 010.JPG Folder 1 014.JPG

Knife blades and rib bone which was incised to hold flint blade.

Folder 1 012.JPG

A few small points.

We recv'd these amazing pieces last year for our states pottery collection. Hangs on our wall every day.
Thinking of you all the time Steve, get well soon. Spring is just around the corner.
