I've been hunting this old ghost town just across the state line and today I found this pin. It reads The University of Minnesota on the front and is stamped "Solid Gold" on the back. My questions are; How old is it? And what Karat is "Solid Gold"?

Most the little label pins I've picked up like yours are 10K gold. Sweet find.

Acid testing confirms it's at least 14k, I still don't know it's age.

I didn't find your exact pin but a few similar were listed from the late 40's to the mid 60's. Many simply said "vintage" which to me means not older than I am or post WWII.
