Found a steel frame, most likely from a stove, near a cellar hole. It’s stamped with GH Phillips and Co, Troy, NY. The limited information I could find was they were in business, late 1800’sure but not much else. Would anyone be familiar with their products/business?

One source says that George H Phillips and Company was organized in Troy, NY in 1868, but changed name to the Phillips & Clark Stove Company the following year. ...

I found a document that lists them as manufacturers of stoves (and also a limited number of fireplaces) in 1875/6 under the following brand/range names:

Baltic, Caloric, Complete Range, Dauntless, Double Flue Caloric, Flotilla, Grand Range, Harmony, Helicon, Homestead, Jasper, Kepler, Magazine Parlor Light, Modern Range, New Dauntless, New Grand, New Homestead, New Phoenix, New Reliable, Parlor Light, Patrol, Phoenix, Portland, Reliable, Special, Vindicator and Winthrop.

Some of them were wood-fired, some coal-fired and some dual fuel. Some were for heating, some for cooking and a few of the models (Complete Range, Modern Range and Winthrop) were portable rather than fixed-installation.
