Tuesday night (yeah I know a couple of days late) Baldingboy and I decided to go detecting. The weather man said it would get to 44 and drop to 30 by evening, he is a liar!!! :( The temp never got above 35 degrees and by the time we stopped hunting it was 25 degrees! :o

Neither one of us could decide where to hunt so we headed back to a previous home we had hunted hoping to find at least one good coin, although we both found a wheat penny that was to be about all we we would find there. For BB and I detecting is an exercise in futility lately and let me tell you we have been getting a lot of exercise!!! :) This yard has more iron, aluminum and scrap metal than it does dirt! We hunted the place for about two hours and then I got an overload signal and dug the grill. I told BB as we were leaving that I thought we should rent a big crane with a magnet on it and come back and run it over the yard first then maybe we could weed out the aluminum.

We headed to another house we had hunted before and had found a mixture of items at. We hunted for two and half hours and in that time I found another 4 wheat pennies and some junk. BB found a couple of interesting finds. I finally had to quit when my Explorer Shut itself off and refused to come back on (after warming it up over night it works fine). I am starting to get in tune with this thing I can tell you though it has taken me a long time. I am still learning and my silver count is still pathetic but I am going to keep going.

Cannot wait for the next hunt and some more exercise.

As usual cool finds my friend. To big of a pansy don't like cold. Keep digging and best of luck.

Great post and pics!
I hear you when you say you are just getting in tune with your Explorer. I have a Quattro that I've been using for over a year and only now do I feel really confident with it.

I like the motorcycle the best. :)

If you found four more wheat pennies it shows that the place still has stuff - and potentially silver. All I need to keep hunting an old site is to keep finding non iron targets. As long as I can find something every 10 minutes or so....

Did the beast shutdown cause of low battery power? My son's detector(DFX) just "died" - shutdown and would not come back on. It just needs the pinpointing switch replaced.

Ok I found two motorcyles it is hard to tell in the first pic but they were burried together. I agree there are a LOT more targets to be found and dug. I am slowly trying to weed them out. This is the same place where I found a Large, dollar sized, coin holder you would wear as a necklace made out of copper. I think the silver dollar is still there somewhere so I am going to keep looking.

No it wasn't battery power issues. I put in AA batteries, brand new ones, and it still wouldn't come on.

Sorry I am not selling any of my wheats, Indians or silver.

Hi, i am a big coin collector i was wondering if its for sale the three wheat pennies i will pay you 1.00 for them email me at [email protected], thank you

Man, is this becoming anoying to anyone else?

Great finds ME. Had a LCD fish finder one time that would move really slow when it got cold. Just wondering, maybe, that the Explorer may shut down due to the cold and not being able to process and display. Just a thought.

And yes the "I'll pay you for your coins" thing is getting annoying, I saw it like 10 or 11 times today on the forum from the same person.
