Found this today next to 1800`s one room school house. Thought I found my first civil war relic...kind of disappointed to find out it wasnt but still cool. I actually tracked this guys history down. he served In spanish american war in 1898 at the age of 32. Still an awesome find (I think). This place "grows" relics and coins. I pry went over this 1,000 times and never picked it up on my detector before. Crazy.

Very nice find. These souvenir badges were very popular between 1880 and about 1920. Here is one I found, for the Fireman's Celebration. Notice that it is the same as yours, only the center is stamped differently.

Congrats and good luck sir!

Cool badge
Nice hunt

That is a great find, congratulations. You may be able to track down his ancestors on genealogy websites. It would be awesome to present it to a family member. Sub 8-)
