cross 002.gif

I found this in along a riverbank in St.Cloud, Minnesota. Is there any way to tell if it is authentic or a replica necklace? Sorry I don't have a better picture I can't find the good camera.

Can't help with the ID - but I can with the pic ;D

Welcome to TreasureNet WLM! I'm afraid a better picture would be required to determine this. Are there any markings on the back? (there should be)

the center should be totally black --at the top it should have a crown if real -- most likely a bit of biker type jewelry

I think I see a crown.

If You get a magnet and it sticks to it, that is a good sign, also look on the hanger loop on top and see if there are any markings around it. You may need a magnifying glass.

the one area in which the copies of the iron cross fail to match, is the solder between the halves...front and back connection.
if the solder line is solid...no space between the halves, it is likely an original.
all of the stamps and dies are suspect, since there was(is) a large market for these crosses....the forgers just can't get that solder line...
