No its not postage its a seal.


These labels were used by German Army Intelligence to seal correspondence.

The text "Heeres Nachrichtendienst" translates to "Army Intelligence".

After the Nazis took power they put the Swastika on everything. My dad worked for a company that did a lot of business with the Germans in the 1930's So in the 1960's they were cleaning out the basement. They were throwing our boxes upon boxes of German letters sent to the USA... Everything has a Swastika, official German letter head...... He kept a few boxes!
