Hey there diggers!
I found this great little piece of history today and need help tracking down a picture of similar or some good info on this.

After careful examination I've discovered it has seven sides and the numbers from 1- 31 (days of the month) wrapped in five bands from bottom to the top and Xs for blanks.
It's made of silver, 18mm tall and 6.5mm across the bottom.
I suspect it's from an early letterbox or inkstand (or part of a deskset) and most likely part of a perpetual calendar .

Has anyone ever found or posted anything like this?
Neat little mystery item!

We’ve seen these as part of a mechanical pencil I believe

the link is awesome....close but not the same
however, I'm confident that my piece could have come from very similar
I can imagine there may have been a few versions by different makers out there
thanks again for your help

Great find Patrick, even better now that you know what it came from.

Although I mentioned this on a previous post, it is worth repeating...

"Couldn't have said it better! Just like they have BANNER FINDS for members who make great finds, there should be a category for members who repeatedly make incredible IDs. nhbenz clearly deserves such recognition!"

Who do I contact at TNet to see if such a category can become a reality?
