My great grandfather was a farmer in georgia years ago he told me that on our farm their was four Oak trees in a square and in the center a five foot high pyramid of a white rock that is not found in our area. He had said it was a Indian site he also gave the rocks to the local garden club this was in the thirties. I know were the trees are its hard to get to. Im new to treasure hunting and would like some feed back has anyone heard of a site like this?

Any non-native rock in an area formed into a monument would be a marker. Whether it is a way station marker or a location marker remains to be seen. Search that area carefully and if you don't find anything see if anyone else in that area has other markers like that. Once you know where they are or were you can make some assumptions on what they meant or were used for. If you find bones it was just a grave marker. exanimo, ss

researching american indians i came across this---- some tribes would bury a person of high honor within the tribe, after that every time any of the tribe would go by that area they were to add a rock to the pile out of respect. being the rocks aren't native though i would definantly do some easy looking around.....
