Hello everyone. Curious if this is an old horseshoe piece here and if the chain is modern or older. Thanks for checking it out and happy hunting everyone!

I've always found those oval long chain links at old sites
 

I’d say the chain is fairly old, at least 100 years and that does look like a busted horseshoe.
 

If the possible horseshoe has nail holes, that would confirm it. The chain is very well worn where the links contact one another. Old but difficult to tell how old.
