George IV Flat Button

Dug this flat button today and I’ve never dug a flat button that referenced George IV. Either way I thought it was good enough to share.

I agree it's not a common flat button, I've dug hundreds of flat buttons but none like that one.

George IV reigned from 1820 to 1830, so it would be in that range

Unusual and really neat! Don't hear of George IV artifacts much, probably because of his short reign (thanks to GL for that information). I wonder what it is doing in SC? If Canada, I would not be so surprised.

I have no idea I'm afraid. It's a generic mark that could be from any number of makers.

Not exactly like that, but I have seen variants such as "G IV R" (for Georgivs IV Rex).
