This is probably going to the last of my fairly obvious natural rock posts. I found all theses rocks over the summer, and something about them seems odd. Rock A I almost thought was firecracked, with it seeming to be a split otherwise smooth sedimentary creek stone. Rock B looked incredibly odd to me, leading me to think it was a flakecore. Rock C is really smooth, though that might just be water caused. Thoughts, and as always thanks for putting up with me. 1D82F523-1147-4B81-B279-50D7B87E32F3.jpeg64929CD2-F553-4393-8254-B0CF34324A3B.jpeg10E0E384-969F-4FA6-AE5C-8CFDFA412447.jpeg5B15CE9C-D44E-4E0A-9A85-AB299960973D.jpeg0F1D052F-4460-4D53-B6F1-408E38BBE7D2.jpeg34C44225-5623-4D40-9DA3-90016822948C.jpeg1A25D40C-90AF-4BE3-9D53-97C03953322E.jpeg

So as the second one, do you mean the dark one? If so that is interesting. I think the stone may be a type of stained quartzite. If it were to be a tool, would it be some type of chopper? Thanks for the response!

The second one, with the black patina looks like it has flakes removed in a human type fashion, so possibly a core. It does look like water stained fine grained yellow-tan quartzite from here.

Thanks for the responses. That is intriguing the black patinated one might be an artifact. I'll have to check out the area I found it, as I generally don't look there. Thanks again!
