i was just walking my dog along some plouged fields with my eyes fixed on the ground hoping for an eyeball find,i also wanted to bump into the farmer and try to get some permission(no luck :()

all of a sudden my dog darted into the bushes next to the field on the edge of a wood, she wouldn't come out of this hollow tree trunk! when i finally got her out i looked in expecting to see a dead animal as she loves to eat them :icon_scratch:

what i saw was a tupperware container stashed right inside! as you can imagine i was beside myself, rubbing my hands together
and imagining what was inside. i pulled it out and on the top of the tub it said geo cache. the box was see through and all it contained was some plastic toys and a notepad and pen :'(

whats that all about :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:

anyway i put it straight back(in disgust) as i didn't want to ruin anyone's fun!

You could have Taken one item, Signed Your name & Discribed how you found it
& Put something else in. in it's place

GeoCaching is a treasure Hunting Game

that uses GPS Coridinates & Clues

it is probably Listed on this site

http://www.geocaching.com/

The first one I found was along the St Joseph river in Michigan...it was in an old tree stump covered with leaves and twigs...I thought I had hit the mother lode when all the bells and whistles on my detector sang.....dang it all anyway....but it was a good laugh!

i found a geocache last week,in the middle of nowhere.
i had hiked up to the top of a hill to look at some caves. took a picture of the valley below, turned to leave and here is a miniature rock wall, about 8 inches high?
i peek in between the rocks to see who/what built a hobbit sized cliff dwelling, and here is an viet nam era ammo can?
all sorts of fantasy involved as i took it down and opened it. duh! two golf balls, a bag of mcdonalds toys, an explanation of the site, and a log book.

i signed my name and the dogs name and put it back. 8)

Well Shaun, pity it was not full of short cross hammered! Anyway Geo Caches are nice to do if you got a GPS and enought time and money (it costs quite a bit nowadays for gas for the car, as you know!)....

well woody that would have been nice but then that would have mean't it was someone elses collection and not my finds!
i was more hoping for a big wad of cash! ive had no work this week, things are very very quiete at the moment :(

the other thing which came to mind was that it could have had something to do with what the police are calling an aggrovated burglary
down my road last week! three men screeched up in a car and kicked in someones door, they then set about him with baseball bats breaking nearly every bone! that poor man died three days later :(

Geo-caching was really big a few years back. My dau and her hubby used to do it every weekend. If you find one, be polite. They're just "discovering" with their electronics the same as we do with our MDs. The proper etiquette is to take something and leave something. If you don't have anything available on you to leave, just uncover and recover, and maybe leave a note. It's harmless and gives Geo'ers a way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Small treasure are still treasures. -Noodle

It's a geocache, been doing it for the last 6 years. I like it for the exercise, plus it takes you to, and by, places you would have never seen any other way. You would be amazed at where it will take you, adn what you will find. I have a whole bookcase of stuff I can photograph and post here. Best find is probably the REM-UMC New Club 12 Ga. center fire shotgun shell base, or the old lead seam soldered food can (not crimped and soldered) from the early 1800's.
