Hey everyone, I've been reading a lot about this hobbie and just comited myself to go buy me one metal detector. I'll be stoping by KellCo to look around and see what they have to offer, but also wanted to get some opinions on which are the most reliable beginers detectors and which areas near Deltona, Florida are good to start getting familiar with my equipment. Looking foward and really exited to get started.

Don't know how much your willing to spend on a first detector. If you stick with the major brands like Fisher, Tesoro, White's, Minelab, Garrett you will be OK even on the entry level ones. The higher priced ones have more features that add to the fun and capability to reach deeper. Kellyco at least has many to pick from where you can handle them to better decide what you like and you can carry it home and not let UPS throw the box around. You being new to the hobby ya won't know if it is operating as it should. Have Kellyco set it up for you so you can see first hand if it works. Good luck and have fun......
