Genealogy researchers needed..... Help me track a WW1 soldier

I got a WW1 gas mask and pouch today with all of the soldiers info on it. I've looked a bit but had no luck finding him. Here's the info written on the pouch. I'd love to know where he was during the war, any battles he may have been part of, and if he survived the war, what he did after. Thanks in advance for any help....

Stuck with him because he was the only E. G. Wayman that showed up in my search from Chicago.

Found his daughter, born in 1938, she passed away in 2009 in Ordway, Colorado which could explain how the mask ended up here... Also means he survived the war.... looking for more info still

Found 3 major battles he may have been involved in : the Battle of Saint-Mihiel, the Meuse–Argonne Offensive, and the Lorraine Campaign. 5 Corps was at all three....

Look up a site called "find a grave". You can find people in any state. Many times you can even get a pic of their grave stone. It's a nonprofit site, and I hope everybody uses it for the right reasons. We have to worry about identity theft nowadays. That way you can find out where he was when he died. There may be relatives living in that area now. Just a thought. But it would probably please his relatives to hear that you had found it, no matter what, in any case. Good luck.
