I bought this during an auction and have been walking circles around it sitting on my coffee table for 2 days now and now I'm at the mercy of Tnet once again... Please any help. I have many pics, but if you different types of pics just let me know ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474226775.362419.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474226883.807378.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474226915.625037.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474226928.033773.jpg

This sucker weighs in at 164.34 ctw .. My fiancé keeps rolling her eyes at me as I can't stop looking at this thing from different angles and different powered lighting, it always changes , but not flakey flashes like you see in the jewelry

Pretty stone. So hard to tell from photographs. What color does it "glow" with a dark background? When you talk to the Jeweler, ask him if it could be Opalite.

It turns a weird yellow greenish color and reddish orange towards center thickest part of the stone... The light was the flashlight on my iPhone 5s in the pitch black... Here's the resultsImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474240767.255542.jpg

Beautiful stone. I was expecting it to be blue a iridescence, not that golden yellow. Breathtaking is the word for that yellow color. Let us know what the jeweler says.

In the mean time. Something you can try if you have a UV – Black light (left over from the 70’s for looking at those cool posters))

Here is what I understand about opals if tested with ultraviolet light. An Opal (always fluoresces) short wave UV it will be either white, green or yellow. Long wave UV blue or white.

BUT Do not stare at the black light!

It could also be Moonstone.

That looks to be a giant crystal opal. Google Australian crystal opal to find out more. Best of luck, -Lisa

even though it looks like opal it could also be glass...a jeweler could tell you in two shakes.
