I guess everybody knows about the stock yellow headphones on the Excal II's not being the greatest at comfort, and blocking wind and surf noise when we are trying to hear our machines while hunting. I haven't been in the Excal group very long, but this is one of the first, and biggest weaknesses (if it has a weakness .. that is) that I noticed right from the start.
I have a set of "Aviation Spruce Gel Ear Seals" coming to me in the mail today. I want to replace the stock yellow Koss ear seals with this upgrade, and I need to know if there is another way to stick them onto the ear cups rather than using AquaSeal? I know that AquaSeal would be the best adhesive to do this with, but once they are glued with this stuff they are glued for good, and I won't be able to remove them if something happens and I have to send the machine in for repair.
I thought about using RTV sealant, or a double sided tape to stick them on, but I was afraid that there might be some kind of a chemical reaction in those glues that would eat away at the gel material. I was hoping that someone else might have ran into this same scenario who also has a machine that is still under warranty and has done this with good results?
I would really rather use the AquaSeal as OBN suggested to me, but I would hate to possibly run into a problem and have to send the machine in to ML for repair and have them turn it down because I messed with their stock ear seals.... If anyone has a suggestion that will work for this mod please let me know. And thanks for any and all help.
