Sounds like you have not used a PI before.
Low and slow is the way to go with the Infinium. Sweep at around 1 to 1.5 feet per sec. If you sweep like you are swinging an VLF then you will find zip other than large shallow targets.Be sure your Ground balance is set correctly. Don't set the disc above 3 for a while until you learn the machine. Whenever you do GB make sure that the Disc is set to Zero. if you are bench testing then that is not indicative of how deep the machine will go on in-ground targets.
Pulling coins and rings at 18 inches is not uncommon with the Infinium.

HI CB.
here is a link to the Aussie Infinium Forum, am not sure if it is allowed here but it will give some access to a few Infinium hints and other info.
If the link does not work then i will see if I can copy some of my posts that may be of some help to here.

It works. thanks a lot.

Hi CBailey,
Sorry you aren't getting any depth out of your Infinium. Forget air tests on PI detectors. They aren't accurate in air tests.
They need to charge up the ground and target and read the eddy flows that decay. (Or so I am told). Ground balance over
a section of ground, then bury a coin or ring and detect it. You will be surprised. I have had mine 5 years and find things
way deeper than I am used to with VLFs.
