Yesterday I bought one, today I tried it, the Pro Pointer. I must say that If I paid TWICE the price I did it would be worth it! I paid slightly less than suggested retail price. For me, I see the Pro Pointer reducing plug digging by 90%. "X" marks the spot... my prob hit the coins, usually, on the first push. When I did dig a plug, I didn't have to divide it. The Pointer told me where in the plug the target was! That made for a cleaner replacement.
Of course, a couple SMALL design negs (IMO). There is no volume control. I covered the speaker port, with my thumb, to quiet it down so as to lessen the "I am here" effect. The other is the LED light is on all the time. Small power drain, I'm sure, but I don't do alot of detecting at night. An indicator next to the "on" switch might be better.
For me, the Pointer eliminates the need to hit pin-point on the detector. The Pointer is more accurate.
