EDIT: THIS OFFER IS NOW at $8, if you want 3 protectors through T-NET. Due to the cost of shipping, and the product, I was losing money on each one I sent out at $5. I figured that though, which is why it was a limited offer at the $5 price.
I'll have the e-bay link up soon, and will post it when it comes up.
Cheers,

Just in time for Christmas. I contacted a manufacturer and had 100 of these made to my specifications.
They are 1.5" long and are 0.06" thick (60 mils). They are VERY durable. I've been using a slightly smaller, 1-inch one, on my pin pointer for the last 4 months. I decided a little longer was better, as it covers the blade better. The one I trial tested shows almost NO wear at all, even after thoroughly using it. I even "dig" more confidently with the tip in the dirt. I did notice, though, over time, the softness/pliability of the vinyl tends to harden and take on the shape of the pin pointer (not an issue, but something to be aware of if you take it off and put it back on again... it's normal for the material).
I will be putting these up on eBay for a $10 price tag, but ONLY for a limited time (Until Tuesday when I ship), folks here on T-NET can have them for cheap. The cost is only $5 for THREE of them, shipping included. This will be BY FAR the most inexpensive set of pin pointer protectors you'll probably be able to purchase commercially. They are only guaranteed to fit the Pro Pointer, Pro Pointer II, and Garrett Pro Pointer AT (Carrot). The best fit will be on a new device, as worn tips may result in a slight gap at the end. I don't expect problems, though, because the product can be pressed snugly against the end during install.
It's quite likely, you may never have to purchase another pin pointer protector set. I'd be surprised if you ever make it through 2 of them! ... and only for $5! Cheaper than "dipping" or buying protectors commercially.
This deal is for USA folks only (USA/APO), as I'll be shipping first class US Mail. If you are international, and would like a set, PM anyway, but we'll need to work out shipping costs. I have NO idea if they're even reasonable, but I'll be happy to check it out when I go to the post office.
The cost on eBay will be more expensive, but I wanted to give the folks here on T-Net an opportunity to purchase for a reduced price. I will send them out on Tuesday of next week, at which time, the deal will stop.
PM me a request, and I'll send back my Paypal e-mail address. I will ship them out on Tuesday, and again on Friday. I need some time to figure out how to ship them safely and inexpensively. I'll probably do tracking numbers for the Tuesday shipment ONLY... but that's only if the volume is handle-able. I'm going to go to the post office to figure out the costs on that day.
Merry Christmas!
