I pulled this ring out last July. It's Stainless Steel. It's not very valuable but it can now be viewed in Garland, Texas at the Garrett Museum. If anyone else has something at the Garrett Museum, post it here!

I used to have (I don't know if it is still there) a 5x 7 elliptical coil off of a gta1000 that was bit through by a bear there. My son got caught by a winter blizzard in the north fork of the American river canyon and had to hide and abandon all the gear he had with him in order to escape. We didn't get back in till spring and the coil had been destroyed but the detector was in good shape. Sent it to Garrett and they put a new one on and asked to keep the chewed one. Their service people are great to work with.
