Garrett GTI2500 power question

Not that I know of either its on or off. I do know if you run the backlight it will drain the batteries quicker. Dumb question but have you tried changing the batteries with fresh ones? Try that and see if you still have the same problem. If you do then it sounds like the detector has a problem.

I am not sure, but think it has a auto turn off like you mentioned and it should be in the menu. If not the batteries as was mentioned, and not in the menu, it is in need of repair service.

All,

I believe that the default is when the detector is ON but not running (pushing any buttons, etc. <OR> swinging the coil) is 10 minutes, then it shuts off. Is yours shutting down earlier than 10 mins.?
