any one out there still useing an garrett ads 7have one been in my closet for 20 yr.s sent to garrett last yr and they repared it. it never worked right from the start ,that why it was never used . looking to use it in the spring after the melt . it was 5 + here in minn. todaythanks roofer jon

My buddy owns one and uses it on occaision. It is a great machine! It goes DEEP and loves silver. But those 9 volt batteries...YIKES! Not Cheap

had a garrett ads 7 and the 3 the 7 i a very good detector,on depth i would put it up to any detector to day,for coins that is.I found a walking 50c at 12 plus! every body there said yr diging
for trash,BUT the detector was telling me silver and i was,ILL never for get it!!! TOP NOTCH DETECTOr !!!!!!!

I still have my ADS-7 and it still works. However it never was good on using batteries, 6 9 volts. Also heavy compared to todays detectors. I used to float mine on a raft for wading since I had the coil with the nine foot cable too. It was nice to get excited when the needle pegged om the pull tab.
