Garrett Ace 250 vs. GTAx 550

Aside from the price, what is the real difference in these two detectors? I almost never see anyone discussing the 550.

Really the only thing i can think of is that the 550 has a threshold sound and the 250 does not the 250 is silent search.

It is curious what accounts for the $200 difference in price. I used to own a 550 when they first came out and I had a lot of fun with it.

i tried both and after getting use to my 550 the tones and screen are more better. 8)

I have owned the gtax550 for about 8 years now and it works great, depth is good also
have found alot of good finds with the 550... the difference between the two is not that much
I think they put differant modes for faster access for other than that not much is differant but
the price... need to make a forum just for the ace250 the sales are that good

my compaint is depth with the 550. I have had F-70 and Etrack follow me and find silver i passed over
