Okay, it got delayed, but my new Garrett 1350 shows up tomorrow, and I took Friday off of work to do some digging. I've been TH'ing for years on various machines, but this is my first experience with a Garrett product. I'll get to play with it a little on Thursday night, but does anyone have any tips/tricks to aid a coinshooter such as myself? I'm going to be hunting parks and homesteads for the most part, very little if any relic or beach hunting. Thanks!

Play with it in coin mode for a few hrs to get used to the sounds of the machine, pin pointing, etc. and then maybe test it in coin & jewelry mode for a while to decide which mode you like & will work better for you.

After about 40 or 50 hrs of 'actual' hunting time/practice with it, try the other modes 1 by 1 for an hr or so at a time to see how they do for you at various sites.

Good luck, and report back with feedback, and any other questions!

AF,

keep us posted on learning your machine. I've been looking for at a 1350 myself and would appreciate the info.

Good Hunting.

Sweet, I'll do just that. I really what to find out what kind of depth I can get from the machine and how accurate the disc. and ground balancing is. I get off at 7 tonight, so I'll slap the whole thing together, read the instructions and take it out into my coin garden in the back and get some readings. First full day of hunting is tomorrow. I just tracked the package and it's out for delivery right now, I can hardly wait! ;D
