Garret ground hog

Hey Texan,

I had a Groundhog 25yrs ago and it was a great machine. No bells and whistles like today's machine, but still a great machine. I found the best way to use it was to go very slow and take your time. It had very good depth, I dug pennies at 12". After awhile I learned to tell the targets by the size of the signal. Short, sharp hits were almost always coins. It was a great machine and I still regret selling mine.

I have a Garrett GroundHog ADS it is a TR/VLF with manual ground balance and manual analog Discrimination. I have had it since it was new, and have found ton's of stuff I have filled 2 5 gal, glass water bottle with coins with it. I have never found any worth digging with my GTI 2500 going over ground that I have used the GH ADS on. I have found 1/2 dollars at over 14 " with the GH ADS. I even found a crashed P38 fighter in a field with the large crossfire coil. The air museum came out and dug the engines up and some of the parts to use for a display at the museum. Not bad for a 20 yr old detector. Now I didn't detect the engines they where down about 15-20 ft but found a lot of the peaces from the crash. From the numbers on some of the parts they found out the pilot bailed out before the crash. The little Groundhog ADS detectors where very good machines.
If it works good and TR/VLF switch is not worn out you got a keeper there for detecting places where you don't want take your $1000 +, tectors.

This was an oldie and a goodie. It will compete with the more modern detectors with all the extras that many said they had to have to get the max fun. good luck.
