garret ace 250

it will not pick up flakes. it may pick up big nuggets. i had an ace 350 with higer freq. and it would not pick up .830 grams unless it touched the coil. hope this helps.

The Ace 250 is utterly useless for gold prospecting. I had one for a while and I found that in mineralized soil it falses like crazy. It really only works well in mild soil.

The 250 is best known as a coinshooter. It has factory-set ground balance for "average" conditions based on what Garrett believes is "average". Some of the detectors used specifically for gold (but not only gold) is the Minelab GPX5000, Gold Bug 2, Tesoro Lobo ST, Whites GMT, and others. TTC
