Hello everybody,

I found this object in my garden but I don't have a clue what it could be.
It has a diameter of 5cm (2inches) and two little holes on the sides. It's probably an ornament of some kind nailed to something- but does somebody know something more about the possible period?
I've found it in my garden in Flanders (Europe).

have a fine day,
Witgar

Actually nothing special, it's hollow. The last picture shows the back.

In which case, does the central piece look like a bar broke off it? Like a drawer pall.

Re: Gardenfind: ornament?

hey guys,

By accident I saw the following thing in a brochure today about " the treasures of sarmatian chieves" - it says under the picture : Phalerae with floral ornament- the decoration of horse harness. Silver, gilding, embossing, engraving. 1st c. B.C.

Of course sarmatians have nothing to do with the place where I've found my object, but it does strongly ressemble the piece of the horse harness as described in the booklet. It has these two tiny holes in it too (but you can't see them on my rather bad pictures).

Have a look at the picture - could it be more than a cupboard ornament?
