Unless you know something about comics and other similar type items you can generally look for the upc and give up on it of being extremely valuable unless it has some sort of uniqueness or rarity.

But in this day and age it seems every item at a garage sale has been checked on ebay before they ever put it out for sale :(:(:(

Still a cool find for 50 cents. Never really know, perhaps someday you might run into a hulk fan or someone in needs of that comic. For now atleast you can sit back by glow of the warm silver great finds you have had at garage sales and read a good comic ;)

This is not really a "find" but in Sept. of 1966, my Mom said to me "There is a really neat TV show on tonight about men in outer space!"

As a result, I watched Star Trek the very first time it was ever broadcast, and being only 6, I became an immediate fan.

The following year (Summer of 1967) I bought a Star Trek comic book at the grocery store for 12 cents:

I still have it, it is Vol. 1, No. 1 and is currently worth a minimum of 2-300 bucks (mine is in near perfect condition).

Congrats on the find.....too bad it could not have been Action Comics #1!
:)
