Hi everyone, I'm new here, so I thought I'd share.
Hit a garage sale that was next door to a CL advertised sale. After getting the owner down to $1 on a 75ft extension cord I asked about a small sterling bracelet I found. He gave me kind of a "harumph" and happily said to take it along with the cord for a $1. I paid him with two clad half dollars I had from CRH and his eyes lit up. I walked away with some silver and a much needed cord for Christmas lights.
The bracelet was ~8 grams. Not a huge amount but every little bit counts.
This of course was in huge contrast to the advertised sale where the guy had eBay priced all of his mother-in-laws stuff and put printed out auction pages next to everything he had for sale. Wouldn't take a penny less than that on any of it. He wasn't selling anything despite a good turn out and his wife was giving him a hard time since he apparently hadn't wanted to take any of it from his M-I-L in the first place, but now wouldn't let it go.
