GAR Badge related?

[watercolor]

I found this while detecting a 1920-era home in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

The ribbon-like "mesh" is 1" wide by 4-1/4" long and made from either brass or copper.
The gold ornate piece at the end still has traces of gold plating. . . Is this is GAR-related?
If not, any ideas on what this could be?

It looks like it could be part of a watch fob/chain .

I do NOT think it is at all GAR related

I think mojjax is more correct...

Found this one on Ebay. It looks similar. It also has the clasp on the back.

Seuban, thanks for your information. . . there must be thousands of decorative designs for these.

(I guess it's time to start looking for the watch that it belonged to )
