I found this homemade ring a couple weeks ago. I found it at school for kids who have been in trouble with the law.

A metal detecting buddy of mine is a Sheriff in the town he says the ring came from.

It says, WSB for Westside San Bernardino.

Then it says RIP which is obvious what that means.

Then it says GATR. My friend says that was the guys gang name.

There there's the number 13. He says that the number 13 is a gang thing.

I looked up gangs online in the surrounding communities and many of them have the number 13 in their name. Believe it or not there's a site which lists most of the gangs.

uh, hmm ... maybe he's buried nearby where you dug the ring? or is the RIP a typical gang greeting to their enemies? I'd get rid of that despite it being unique. Andi

Unusual find! Wonder what brave soul compiled and listed the gang info on line?
Ya if you dig the same area maybe you shouldn't go more than a foot deep, there may be " more" there.

could have been his hood rat "best buddy"-- many gang guys get tats for best buds "memory" but tats can not be "removed" rings can put on / taken off as the situation demands--so you can "fit in" or "gang out" as need be.

awesome piece of history  I wonder if they sang while they fought :tongue3:

nice find if only it could be connected with this

Very odd on the RIP if it means what it normally does, unless the Leader of the gang got all the dead guys rings ?

maybe RIP was his gang name & GATR something else

Wow Jeff very cool! I hadn't heard this before. Thanks for the link!

You never know, RIP could be his name. Either way I'm pretty sure it's gang related though. Kind of cool and kind of creepy for me.

LOL I never thought of that. Good thing there wasn't a finger attached to the ring.

Here's a link to some gangs. There were more extensive lists but this guy sound like a local. You can see all the number 13's.

Hopefully, he isnt a member of tNet and doesnt come looking for it :) J/K. Unique, edgy, uncomfortable find!

Well.....You could make a post saying: GATR, I found your ring, if you want it back, pm me your address and I'll mail it to you. (Then if you'd rather keep it, move to another town A.S.A.P.). (lol)

Mucho gracias

probably a guy named Gator was killed - and they made some rings to remember him - not that odd- might do well on ebay....

I thought it was a very odd find Pete. Opinions vary though.
I see you've only given 1 like. I find that odd.

Here's a dumb question.............Is it gold? I'd imagine since it was hand made there isn't a stamp on it. I hope you have a gold test kit. I'd love to know. HH!

I dig your find. Don't flash it around.
