The Royal Cypher mark indicates it is from te era of George V...

Which dates this item to 1910-1936.

JFYI

Naw, that dates to the George I,II,III era. pre-Victorian.
It's a key hole cover.

British "Crown" mark over the letters "GR" for "Georgius Rex" (King George), commonly seen with a Grice, Stowe, or Tower lock plate.
