Yesterday while hunting Indian artifacts I came upon an old bottle dump.
I've looked through it in the past but after not visiting it in a while I decided
to eyeball it. I spotted this medal right away, gave it a quick rinse in a puddle
and was quite surprised.

medal 138 (824 x 618).jpg

It reads "29th Encamp't dep't Indiana"
'Kokomo Indiana"
"Grand Army of the Republic"
"1861-Veteran-1866"
"1908"
Does anyone have info. on an item like this. It has great historic value and is
certainly a great find. Any help would be appreciated., Thanks for looking, Unitas

Nice piece of history.

I really like that. Do you hunt in all metal mode. (I know this one was done with your eyes) And how do you guys clean these old pieces of metal. ??? ???

Very nice find

Found this in the edge of oklahoma, just outside kansas,it was for Lyman U> Humphrey.
He was the eleventh gov for the state of Kansas also served in the war.
I have no idea if they are worth anything, but is very sentimental to me!
