A good read with some relevant (to me) info about buying PMs in Germany.

"The coin...circumvent(s) currency import regulations. A person travelling from Austria to Germany is allowed to bring €10,000 ($14,000) into the country without having to declare it at customs. So that person can bring more than 6,000 Philharmonic coins over the border and in doing so, bring home, with each trip, more than €110,000 ($156,000)..."
I think the implications here are far more alarming and I would not be surprised if the Germans shut this down posthaste; If not for the overt money laundering implications for organized crime (i.e. human trafficking and opium) or terrorism, then at least because the German 'man' is loosing out on a whoping 12% tax. Needless to say the Germany tax man doesn't like to be cheated; how will they ever pay for all those social programs!?
