Save your copper for now. Typically, metals prices rise in the winter.

I don't know what the future holds, but copper prices should surely see some major fluctuation since everyone in the industry is flipping out over the fluctuations in copper prices, because everyone is flipping out over the fluctuations in copper prices, because etc...all of this is longterm, of course, but to me it feels like the blind leading the blind to a monkey's teaparty of confusion. A friend of mine from Chile works in a copper mine, and he doesn't see demand letting up at all, especially into 2009, 2010. The only potential relief, he believes, is that more and more companies and industries that rely on copper are actively looking for plastic substitutes, but with few exceptions, they're not finding many.
