Stopped at Dunkin Donuts this morning to find a "moving sale" flyer taped to the door on my way out. I noticed it was the 2nd day and about 5 mins from my house. My brother stopped by my house and we jumped in the car to head out. Got there and the people were literally moving out in a few hours and wanted EVERYTHING gone now.
The place had been picked over but there was still some decent stuff scattered about. Asked for a price on a large lot of jewelry and was told I could take it ALL for $5. Most people would ask $20-50, based on previous experiences. Ok so now its "game on" and I started asking for prices on anything I was even remotely interested in. Ended up buying the following:
-large stack of comic books (100-150 total), most in protective sleeves and hard back, almost exclusively early 90s comics, probably minimal value in the entire lot (now I remember why I avoid comic books), flea market fodder?
-Oneida sterling heirloom glass goblet (decanter?) in box
-Oneida sterling heirloom ladle (sterling) - should pay for the entire lot alone
-Marx 60's action figure, General Custer (kind of beat up)
-large bag of assorted costume jewelry, not a single piece of good jewelry in the whole lot, all junk but will still fly off the table at the flea market
-4 bottles of unopened wine, 3 are halfway decent brands, 1 is crap - gifts and/or for when company comes over
-5 gallery framed photographs by Susan V. Lockwood, 1 is hand signed/numbered - to be determined as to value
Walked out with all of the above for $45! Now that is how its done...
